What do you wish you had asked?

The most useful thing you can leave here is not a complaint. It is the question nobody told you to ask, or the part of the process that surprised you. That is what changes the next patient's outcome.

1 The operation What operation was it? Roughly when?

We deliberately do not ask for a date, a city or a hospital. A procedure plus a date plus a place can identify one person, and we are not willing to hold that.

2 How the decision was made

These three answers are the most valuable part of your post. They are what lets us publish patterns — how often patients are told an operation is urgent, how often a second opinion disagreed — without publishing anyone's story in full.

What were you told about urgency? Did you get a second opinion? Were non-surgical alternatives explained to you?

3 What happened Tell it in your own words

Up to 2,500 characters. Write it the way you would tell a friend.

4 Proof that the operation happened

Required, and never published. One page is enough: your discharge summary or a hospital bill. A moderator opens it once to confirm the operation was real, and it stays locked after that — there is no setting on this site that can make it public, because it names a hospital.

JPG, PNG or PDF, up to 2 MB. A phone photo of the page is ideal.
Hidden location and device data is stripped from images before the file is saved, not when it is shown.
Cover or scribble out your name, your ID numbers and your address first if you prefer. We only need to see the operation and the date.
The filename is discarded and replaced with a random one, so a name in the filename never reaches us.

5 Photographs Optional

Up to 3 pictures — a scar, a wound healing, a device, a printed bill with the hospital covered. Every photograph is private when it arrives and is approved one at a time. Approving your post does not approve its pictures.

No faces, no wristbands, no name boards, no hospital signage — those are rejected.
JPG or PNG only, up to 2 MB each.
You can ask us to remove an approved photograph later, and it stops being served immediately.

6 How your name appears Publish this anonymously

Ticked by default, and sending a document does not change it. Verification proves the operation happened; it does not put your name on what is published.

What we do and do not keep

No hospital name, no doctor name, no city, no date in what you write.
Your document is verification only. It is never published, at any approval level.
Nothing you upload has a web address. Files are served only after a fresh permission check.
Location and device data is stripped from images before they are written to disk.
Email addresses, phone numbers and links are stripped automatically before storage.
Anonymous is the default, and verification does not change it.
You can ask us to delete your submission or a photograph at any time.

We ask for one document because unverified surgery stories cannot be published safely, and for nothing beyond it. No prescriptions, no scans, no reports, no ID proof. Read the security rules.
